My thanks to all who donate or link to this page. And to the SVACA for helping me to find those in need of the funds collected here.

And much appreciation to Constance of the Friends of Watsonville Animal Shelter who has graciously volunteered to mentor me as I begin the process of launching my program. Her guidance has been priceless to me.

Part of the Solution: The Cutest Dog Ever Spay and Neuter Fund

I truly believe that the best way to help stop animals from being euthanized in shelters is to address the source and help lower the number of unplanned litters of puppies bred each year. I am dedicating my efforts to begin a non-profit program* raising funds to help pay for the altering of pets belonging to those who, for a multitude of reasons, want to spay or neuter their pet(s), but simply can't afford to.

The CDE fund will donate 100% of the funds collected to pay for 100% of the altering fee for those selected to benefit from this program. All I will request in return is a photo of each pet to post here on this page so that those who donate can see the actual animals altered through their donations.

I am currently in the process of making arrangements with Dan Soszynski, Executive Director of the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority to apply the funds raised here through their new low cost spay and neuter clinic. Their standard rates will be $10 to alter cats and $30 to alter dogs. You can read more about the clinic by CLICKING HERE

To date the CDE Spay & Neuter fund has raised $1760.00!

Please let me know if you have any questions. I will be happy to answer them for you.

It is estimated that the state of California is forced to euthanize 450,000 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens each year simply because nobody wanted them.

My long range goals are:

1. As I gain experience at fund raising and the dispersal of the funds I will begin reaching out to help residents in other cities and states especially targeting those cities with the highest euthanization rates in their local shelters.

2. Find a way to have kids involved with Cutest Dog Ever or the spay and neuter fund. So far I know of a couple of kids, a 10 year old out of state and 13 year old here in the Bay Area, who would love to help dogs. Because most shelters require them to be 18 years old to volunteer at a shelter they have a ways to go before they will be old enough to go that route. So I'm trying to think of a way that they can become part of Cutest Dog Ever allowing them to follow their passions whether they live down the block or across the country. I'm looking for suggestions so if you have any ideas please feel free to bark them our way!

3. Seek funds for larger goals, such as the purchase and maintenance costs of a mobile spay and neuter clinic to serve the Northern California / Greater Bay Area. In the future I hope to add them to other areas of need as the program grows.

4. Find Community Leaders and Celebrities who will endorse the CDE Spay and Neuter program helping me to achieve these goals faster then I could on my own.

* I am not a 501c3 charity. Just an average citizen trying to help be part of the solution to solve the terrible problem our city shelters face on a daily basis.
